At Rara Forma we believe in the natural beauty of brass. All of our finishes are living finishes – unlacquered brass that will continue to develop a beautiful and natural patina over time. Our signature metal finishes are all done in-house, one piece at a time. Each part is methodically prepared and finished by hand for a lifetime of lasting beauty and quality.

Due to the natural qualities of brass and the artisan nature of our products, some finishes can vary slightly between parts and batches. That variance shows the beauty, honesty and organic nature of the materials and processes that help to craft the story of your heirloom-quality fixture. We encourage the purchase of finish samples to get the best representation of color and tone.

Classic BrassOur Classic Brass finish is just that – a beautiful classic brass. Lightly polished and then hand-burnished. Unlacquered and hand-waxed to preserve the finish. A beautiful, natural patina will occur slowly over time.

Heritage BrassOur Heritage Brass finish is a lightly aged, warm, honey-toned finish. Lightly polished, hand-burnished and then gently aged for a warm, authentic, old-world look and charm. Unlacquered and hand-waxed to preserve the finish. A beautiful, natural patina will occur over time.

Blackened BrassOur Blackened Brass finish is a dark gunmetal grey/black finish with slightly warm undertones. The finish is hand-applied and hand-burnished for a natural, varied tone. The unlacquered brass has been hand-waxed to preserve the finish but will continue to darken over time.
